There was a big update to Google this last weekend (~10/18/2014) and all my major sites improved — some had HUGE improvements.
I’ve been discussing with other good SEO consultants on what exactly has happened based upon my data and their data. It turns out that lower quantity, high quality links plus proper On Page optimization is working better than ever. I’ve been going this route exclusively for about a year and a half now because I’ve seen the direction that Google is heading.
This was actually the most favorable major Google update for my sites and my clients’ sites. Not a single one had big drops and several had huge gains.
Quality over Quantity wins.
